Faculty of Technical Sciences

Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN), University of Novi Sad comprises 11 departments and is the largest individual faculty in Serbia with over 1000 employees and 15,000 students. The project will be carried out by the Department of Power Electronics and Communication Engineering, the leading FTN department regarding the number of staff members, EU-funded projects and innovation-oriented spin-off companies emerging out of its research activities. The project team is part of the Chair of Communications and Signal Processing engaging 16 academic staff members and 11 PhD students which targets internationally-visible research in large-scale distributed information processing and machine learning, supported by massive cellular machine-type communications.

Work in the project

FTN contributes across all WPs, but its major contribution is envisioned in WP4 and WP5. In WP4 Literacy materials and Living Labs, FTN leads the task Development of Cancer Literacy Toolkit and supports establishment of Lighthouse Living Lab at University of Novi Sad. FTN leads also WP5 Training, Capacity Building and Data Sharing and will contribute development of training materials and training sessions, yet its main role is design and development of the knowledge-sharing platform, the Digital Portfolio, which serves as a repository for cancer prevention materials and research information, providing a centralized location for efficient information access.
