Full month for our project! TRACE is being represented at two events this month DTSummit and the Cancer Mission Fair.
First, we will fly to Funchal, Portugal, on Wednesday, 15 April, for the DTSummit. Our partner Carina Dantas (SHINE 2Europe) will moderate the session “Cancer and Beyond: Practical Cross-Domain Digital Health Innovations” at the Digital Transformation Summit in Madeira.
The session will highlight how multidisciplinary initiatives are advancing digital oncology through AI-enabled tools, patient-centered technologies, and ecosystem-building approaches. Special attention will be given to survivorship, innovation uptake, and trustworthy digital transformation in healthcare. Following presentations of selected European projects, a roundtable discussion will explore ecosystem challenges, the trustworthiness of AI, and the vital role of patient engagement. Our partner will co-moderate the session with Maria Jose Santofimia Romero from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. The speaker line-up includes: James Davis Sánchez, University of London, Rafael Maestre, CETEM, Charalampos Vassiliou, DG SANTE, Nirmalie Wiratunga, Robert Gordon University and João Santinha, Champalimaud Foundation.
Two weeks later, on 28 April, we will fly to Nicosia, Cyprus, for the 2nd European Cancer Mission Fair.
Our project coordinator, Nova National School of Public Health (represented by Sónia Dias, Maria João Marques, and Ana Gama), and our partner SHINE2Europe (represented by Carina Dantas) will be joining this event to:
- Pitch for TRACE: Bridging Cancer Research and Real-World Impact Through Co-Creation and Community Engagement;
- Chair the workshop “Beyond Pilots: Synergising EU Cancer Projects for Ethical and Inclusive Implementation of Digital Tools”;
- Join the European Commission Conference “Understanding cancer in the digital age: data, innovation and equity”.
The interactive workshop will bring together different European-funded initiatives such as TRACE, MAYA Project, PATH, CAREWAY, CURTAIN Project, 4P-CAN Project, EU PERIFORMANCE project, CHILI-HPV and EQUITY-LA to move beyond project silos towards implementation in the community. Our project speakers will be Sónia Dias, Maria João Marques, Hancean Marian-Gabriel, Ana Gama, and Carina Dantas.
The Cancer Mission Fair on 28 April is an inspiring European gathering, that will spotlight citizen engagement, collaboration, and shared experiences in cancer care and research. Following last year’s success, the Fair will bring together citizens, patients, and experts from across Europe to share best practices and drive collaborations in cancer care. Organised as part of ECHoS | Establishing of Cancer Mission Hubs: Networks and Synergies, in collaboration with the European Commission’s EU Cancer Mission, this year’s event will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, under its European Union Presidency, offering a unique opportunity to learn from best practices and foster collaboration across sectors.
